I’m wondering if anyone else out there has had the same situation as me: basically that your parents are still really sound of mind but they need something a little more geared towards them. My parents are older and they’re less mobile than they used to be so I try really hard to keep them in the loop. I got them satellite from http://www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/ for their house and I actually had them get online and look up over 55 communities in their area they could live in and not have to worry about things like mowing the lawn and cleaning the pool. They’ve found one in Arizona they really like but we’ll see…my mom’s not all that social so I don’t know how she’ll like the bridge club and all those pre-set activities but I know dad would love the golf. Anyway, they seem happy and I’m so thankful they’ve still got each other. I love being a part of their brood and helping them out when and where I can!
If you don’t want to give yourself a shock, do not look at the amortization schedule of that home improvement loan you just took out for that back porch you’re adding on. One of my friend’s clients told him that she just financed her rehab project through her own bank. She said she was involved with infinite banking that offers her endless possibilities to accumulate more and more money for her retirement fund. It may be too late for the job being done now, but better late than never. It sure must be nice to be paying interest to yourself at a rate that you, yourself can choose.
My sister and her husband were looking at buying this charming old house in Vancouver and were considering a huge home improvement renovation. It was no surprise when they asked me to join them in appraising the situation, since I am heavily involved in this area. While up there and perusing the area, we thought we’d scout out the area before getting down to exploring the possibility of the rehab. We saw a sign leading to these Surrey condos by Waterstone. End of story, the old house is out the condo is in. If you saw them, you would have no doubt why.
