Manitoba Carpenters

I am getting more and more frustrated with the caliber of workmanship from the stateside carpenters. Every person that swings a hammer calls themselves a carpenter. These people need to take a trip up north and see what kind of work the Manitoba carpenters put out. They will be in awe. Certain areas take extra care and pride in what they sign their name to. None of these craftsmen would be caught dead producing some of the shoddy work I have seen seeing here lately. Sometimes I feel like I have to get back to the basics around here. This is a hammer, this is a saw……

Unsecured Business Loans

I often wonder, if Noah looked into unsecured business loans, would he have had the opportunity to put more than one pair of each of the animals on the Ark? Would the ship have been bigger with more amenities? Just like when I started my home improvement business, the idea of an unsecured loan was very tempting. To this day I question whether or not it would be a lot larger had I borrowed more money to get it going. I guess I should just count my blessings that my business is alive and well. As far as Noah goes, I guess he did a good enough job without any loans.

Wedding Cake Toppers

When I come across things like wedding cake toppers, it reminded me of my grandfather. He was a Russian imigrant and always intrigued me with his tales of “the old country.” He spoke reverently of the customs and of course the vodka. He would tell me how spartan the times were. He used to say he went to the butcher and the butcher would ask “do you want the sausage or the sausage.” This would bring on the most heart-warming belly laugh. The message was always about how simple their choices and lives were. Today, I think of all these highly selective decisions we face and have a difficult time putting them into perspective.
